Cemeteries and Memorials

There are two cemeteries administered and maintained by Auckland City. These are Gooseberry Flat, Tryphena and Cemetery Bay, Whangaparapara.

In addition there are a number of other private burial sites (as well as Maori Urupa) and these are mainly family sites on the early farms.

There are also some memorials and other sites relating to shipwrecks or early industry.

GBIHRG has fairly extensive records of the known burials along with photos and these are available to be viewed in the groups archives.
